When your world is in flames and you don’t know what to do, it is OK to give yourself a moment. If it is literally on fire and you need to leave NOW, it is OK to forget to take the important things with you. The most important things are within you. And the other important things, you will not forget.
When the chaos of the tumult of the overwhelming activity of the seemingly unstoppable is taking up all your space, you can stop. You must stop. You find a moment and a place to pause. All that is within and without can swirl around you. But in the center of your being is unspeakable stillness, is refuge, is indestructible Home. Fear not in this place. Find your way there instinctively. Sink into it, trusting yourself. It always dwells within. It is forever receiving you, over and over, like the arms of the mother you might have once had.
All is not lost, even when all is lost. This impermanent world you dwell in, the 3D planetary place, it is full of light and love and terror and suffering, grief and pain and gladness and hope. All of this coexists because of all the other aspects. Nothing exists by itself. Interdependent co-arising means the laughter and the tears give birth to one another, over and over again. Impermanence means that life continues to evolve and reinvent itself, and that time has never run out.
There may be looming obstacles, it seems, to how you want the world to behave right now. Things are not going according to plan, according to desire, according to what you were promised if only, if only, if only… But there are no obstacles to change, and there is only the human psyche to drive things forward. So care for your mind and heart, care for your body and soul, care for those around you and the earth on which you stand, and have faith in the power of transformation.
Change is change is change, and although the current moment may not meet your needs, may not feel too good, may not comfort you, the very fact of change itself is worth appreciating. The same forces that bring difficulties down on your head are the forces that can be harnessed for healing the pains and the injuries.
Trust yourself, that you will rise again, and that you will find traction where you plant your determined feet. But in this moment be still a while, to gather yourself and await the clarity and the courage and the moment when your path shines before you, awaiting your tread.
For now, rest and gather, for change awaits everyone, just over the horizon. Coming soon. Love.

A friend sent this to me in an email on September 15. My home, possessions, and beautiful forest land burned up on September 8. I’ve re-read it many times and tonight thought I’d search online for its source, and found it here. Thank you for the comfort and hope and wisdom.
Thank you for your comment, we are so happy it brought you some comfort. We send you peace and blessings for your recovery from such a difficult event. xoxoxo
